Tony Lannen is quite an accomplished bass player, both acoustic and electric, at the age of 14. He already has to his credit, performance, as well as composing experience. This past year he played for the World Premier of a new musical, "Father Bingo", which was performed at the Detroit Music Hall. Tony not only played in the orchestra, he also wrote all of the bass parts for the musical score. Tony is a member of the Detroit Civic Ensemble Philharmonic and The Detroit Civic Jazz Band I. He has performed at Orchestra Hall as well as at the MSU Jazz Spectacular this past season. He was also selected by Norwegian Cruise Lines as Junior Star Seeker Winner in July of 2005. An accomplishment he is quite proud of is to have performed on the Mitch Albom radio show on WJR two times during this past year with The Bluesman, Paul Miles, a nominee for the 2006 Detroit Music Awards. Tony also performed with Paul Miles and the Original Vandellas on the recording "Welcome to Detroit" which made it's debut on WDIV during the Super Bowl in Detroit. Tony attended Interlochen this summer as part of the All State Orchestra. This is the first year he was eligible to audition and is quite proud to have been selected. Tony loves to play all types of music from classical to jazz, and beyond. He has writtien his first CD "Elevatons". He performs all the instrumentation on the CD.
