Oom-Pa Boys/DANCELAND

Whether it be Oktoberfest or any other excuse for a party, the "Oom-Pa Boys" generate loads of gemütlichkeit
(good cheer with a German flavor). All the well known German songs- waltzes, polkas, fox trots and Rheinlanders- are included in our repertoire. (See tune list.)

Our instrumentation consists of Kapellmeister Ernst on trumpet & vocals (Deutsch), accordion, tuba (big bass horn), and drums. And of course, our uniforms include lederhosen. For a really fun party with loads of gemütlichkeit, call upon the "Oom-Pa Boys" to perform for your special occasion.

The DANCELAND Band performs music from the Big Band era. We are available for dances and park concerts. Special arrangements enable us to bring back some of the big hits of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Harry James, etc. while still fitting into budgets that cannot accommodate a full big band. Our maximum size is 6 musicians (3 rhythm & 3 horns) plus optional male vocalist (ala Frank Sinatra). Our program has proven successful with mature audiences and also with the younger generation who appreciate the Swing style of music. Our repertoire includes all the standard ballroom dance styles- the various Latin rhythms, Waltz, Polka, Fox Trot, etc.
