One Beat Back is a Detroit Metropolitan area based Big Band that has established a reputation on solid performance of Big Band Swing and Jazz Music. It is a "high energy" group that plays for the love of this music. Our audiences are always impressed by how tight our sound is and by the energetic appearance of the group.

One Beat Back was established in 1991. It started as a rehearsal band with weekly rehearsals. Today that tradition has "stood the test of time," as the band still rehearses every week. The band began performing at its own "Dinner Dances" for six consecutive years starting in 1993. During this period the band starting performing a variety of other events both private and public, including events at the Detroit Yacht Club, Grosse Pointe Yacht Club, Saginaw Valley State University, Detroit Institute of Arts, Soaring Eagle, Macomb Center of the Performing Arts and the Yankee Air Force Museum to name a few. We completed our first CD recording in 1998 called "Standardized". One Beat Back continues to play throughout the Detroit Metropolitan Area pleasing audiences at every performance.
