The
Motor City Brass Quintet is a recent addition to the diverse musical culture
of the Metropolitan Detroit area. A combination of veteran talent and experience
and youthful energy and vigor, the MCBQ is a must for any occasion or concert
venue. MCBQ members have long established themselves as seasoned performers
in a variety of venues. Members of the quintet perform regularly with the symphony
orchestras of Detroit and Toledo. As popular musicians, the MCBQ musicians have
been seen in performance with the Four Tops, Temptations, Yes, Bobby Short,
and the J.C. Heard Orchestra. Members have performed at engagements ranging
from Presidential functions (George W. Bush, Bill Clinton) to fundraisers at
the Playboy Mansion. Locally, the MCBQ has performed at wedding ceremonies and
receptions in the area's finest clubs and halls: Grosse Pointe Country Club,
Detroit Athletic Club, Grosse Pointe War Memorial, Pine Knob Manor, to name
a few... With a repertoire as diverse and varied as is the musical heritage
of Detroit, the MCBQ can accommodate any performance situation. Realizing the
importance of music education, the MCBQ has unique and specialized programs
crafted for young children as well as presentations designed for adults. Experienced
educators, the Quintet's members enjoy teaching at such institutions as the
University of Toledo, Albion College, and the School for Performing Arts-Ann
Arbor. With members possessing a wide array of musical abilities, custom arrangements
and original compositions can be created for any occasion, from a simple wedding
to an elaborate recording project.
